KEROSENE

We have a Perpetual Energy Cell for all forns of Aviation

Jet fuel (aviation turbine fuel) is a refined, kerosene-based petroleum product designed specifically for use in aircraft powered by gas-turbine engines (such as jet and turboprop engines).

Key Types and Specifications

Jet A: The standard commercial aviation fuel used primarily within the United States, featuring a higher freezing point of −40 °C (−40 °F).

Jet A-1: The international commercial standard for aviation used nearly everywhere outside the U.S., featuring a lower freezing point of −47 °C (−52.6 °F) for long-haul and polar routes.

Jet B: A wide-cut kerosene-gasoline blend designed for extreme cold-weather regions (such as parts of Canada and Russia) with a freezing point down to −60 °C (−76 °F).

JP-8 & JP-5: Military-grade kerosene fuels; JP-8 includes a specialized military additive package, while JP-5 features a higher flash point (60 °C / 140 °F) for safe handling aboard aircraft carriers.

Why Kerosene is Used Over Gasoline

Higher Flash Point: Kerosene is less volatile and has a higher flash point (minimum 38 °C / 100 °F) than automotive or aviation gasoline, making it significantly safer to store, handle, and transport.

Energy Density: Kerosene is denser than gasoline (roughly 6.76 lbs/gal vs. 5.97 lbs/gal), delivering about 12% more energy per gallon to maximize range on long flights.

Altitude Stability: Unlike gasoline, which can form vapor bubbles and cause vapor lock at low atmospheric pressure and changing temperatures at high cruising altitudes, kerosene maintains low viscosity and flow stability.

No Octane Requirement: Because turbine engines burn fuel continuously in an open combustion chamber rather than via high-compression spark ignition, they do not require octane rating controls.

Note: While commercial jet fuels are kerosene-based, regular home-heating kerosene (such as Grade 1-K) is not interchangeable with jet fuel because it lacks the strict aviation testing, anti-icing inhibitors, thermal stability, and specialized additive packages required for flight.

CYLINDER PRESSURE

1500-2000 as Peak is average with C/M & hybrid or Alliance blocks

A cylinder pressure of 2000 PSI inside an internal combustion engine is a very realistic peak cylinder pressure (PCP) for a highly modified, forced-induction performance gasoline vehicle or a modern automotive diesel.

However, how that 2000 PSI number is categorized depends strictly on what type of engine pressure is being measured:

1. Peak Cylinder Pressure (PCP) vs. Average Pressure (BMEP)

• Peak Cylinder Pressure (PCP): This is the instantaneous maximum pressure achieved inside the combustion chamber right after the spark plug ignites the air-fuel mixture (usually a few degrees after Top Dead Center). In this context, 2000 PSI is a standard upper limit for elite, high-boost racing engines or high-performance turbocharged gasoline vehicles. Pushing beyond 2,000 PSI in a gasoline engine often risks severe mechanical issues, such as blown head gaskets, bent connecting rods, or engine detonation. For modern light-duty automotive diesel performance engines, 2,000 to 2,900 PSI is standard operating procedure due to how diesel fuel burns under extreme compression.

Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP): This represents the average effective pressure working on the piston throughout the entire power stroke. No internal combustion engine averages 2000 PSI across the stroke. Naturally aspirated performance engines usually average between 150 to 225 PSI of BMEP, while elite turbocharged racing engines rarely exceed 1,000 PSI of average working pressure.

2. Cranking/Static Compression Pressure
If you are hooking up a hand-held gauge to do a standard cranking compression test on a performance vehicle in a garage, a reading of 2000 PSI is physically impossible.

• Healthy high-performance gasoline engines typically show static cranking pressures between 150 and 200+ PSI.High-compression diesel engines typically crank between 300 and 500 PSI.

Direct Pressure Comparison
The table below illustrates where 2,000 PSI fits compared to typical automotive engine metrics:

Pressure TypeStandard Passenger CarHigh-Performance / Race Car
Cranking Compression125 – 160 PSI175 – 220+ PSI
Average Combustion Pressure (BMEP)~110 – 150 PSI200 – 1,000+ PSI
Peak Combustion Pressure (PCP)300 – 1,000 PSI1,500 – 2,500+ PSI

If you are looking at data logs from an in-cylinder pressure transducer on a heavily boosted turbo or supercharged engine, seeing spikes up to 2000 PSI means the engine is making substantial power, but it is operating near the structural limit of standard high-performance blocks.
